Manta Standalone
EDIT: newest version = < http://old.sampleandhold.org/spool/manta_0_9_7.zip >

Here is the Manta standalone software written by Jan Trutzschler von Faulkenstein.

http://www.snyderphonics.com/manta_0_9.zip

It's still in beta version. Currently, the OSC functionality is relatively complete, but the MIDI functionality is somewhat limited. Soon to come -- the ability to change which MIDI notes the hexagons send, and the ability to route the sliders to any continuous controller, coupled with the ability to save these preset mappings.

Please post any bug reports to this thread so that we can work on solving them.

RE: Manta Standalone
Here's the newer version that Jan just worked up. Still beta, but now it has added features and some fixes -- you can now assign MIDI numbers to hexagons and do MIDI routing directly from this standalone application.

http://old.sampleandhold.org/spool/manta_0_9_5.zip

changes / news:
- last settings are stored in ~/Library/Application
Support/MantaCocoa/lastSettings.xml
- start / stop for incoming osc messages should work
- changing the listening port should work (when stopped)
- cmd-alt-e opens an editor to change control and midi channels sent
(also available through the edit menu)
- editor also influences the osc data sent (do we want that?)
- reset editor settings with cmd-alt-c (or through the edit menu)

to do
- editor to use maximum value clipping
- editor to set note on number & channel
- save / open settings other than the last one
- slider settings (midi channel, control, max value)

optional:
- midi learn function
- led setting uses same midi settings as the note on/off in the editor

try this out and report any bugs!
